ABOUT US

Phoenix Blue is a non-profit organization from Sweden with the sole goal of growing Swedish esports from the ground up. Our journey started back in 2017, in the “City of Dreamhack”, also known as Jönköping. All of us have one thing in common: We love esports, and we want to do everything we can to help more of the swedish youth to take part and grow within the space.

We do this in a multitude of ways. We organize competitive tournaments within the biggest esport titles. We host live productions of both small-scale and major events. We host gatherings in our venue in Huskvarna, where local kids can come and try out the most popular games on hardware they might not be able to have at home for one reason or another.

OUR HISTORY

2017

In may, Phoenix Blue is created by a couple of esport enthusiasts in Jönköping, who for years prior worked together in other organizations. They join forces to try to create an organization that can help grow the Swedish grassroot esports scene.

2018

In 2018, Phoenix Blue began its venture into Super Smash Bros. for real, with the creation of the Phoenix Blue Smash series, a tournament series that is still running to this day. With over a 100 participants crammed into the theatre of Halmstad, it was a cozy experience for all involved. It’s safe to say we were hooked by the love from the community, and we’ve worked to become better ever since. This is also the event where we first got to see the passion and love for the community offered by our very own president, Kasper.

2019

The biggest tournament in the history of Phoenix Blue is hosted: Phoenix Blue 2, a Super Smash Bros. tournament in the city of Malmö. With over 200 participants from more than 13 countries, it marks a huge step in the development of Phoenix Blue.

2020

A year tormented by the covid pandemic put a stop to most of the planned offline events, but Phoenix Blue prevailed. We moved online and hosted a multitude of tournaments across the biggest esports, growing our membership tally to record levels in the process. Planning also continued for the fun that is to come when the covid situation eases down.
